Did you inhale chips & salsa (with numerous glasses of ice cold water in close proximity)? Perhaps you went to Taco Bell & convinced yourself that the empanadas although appearing to be apple turnovers and tasting exactly like a mini apple pie, were not that at all- they simply the American version of an empanada. Or maybe you wore a sombrero all day to work as coworkers passed by only to see a tiny portion of an odd straw hat peeking out of the top of your cubicle - hey, you're all about being the life of the party at your office. Some of you may have even downloaded a quick jam on Itunes so you could jam out to "Suavemente" in your car throughout the day to honor your fellow Mexican friends. Whatever it is that you did, thank you for honoring myself and all of my friends and family. They too want to say to you, "muchos gracias". Most of them have very poor English so I send their gratitude all the way from, yes you guessed it, Mexico!
Happy Cinco De Mayo!
I know I'm a day late, but our culture is notorious for that!
